Five Ways to Style the Skater Skirt During Winter

Nothing, and I mean nothing, beats the way the flair that comes with wearing a skater skirt. The full, voluminous body can accentuate any waist and gives a defining feature that leaves the body looking slimmer than it is. I personally love anything skater, and for good reason! Since I have a wide waist, the silhouette flatters my body shape exceptionally and helps me hide any imperfections.

Here are my absolute favorite ways to wear a skater skirt in winter:

Don't tuck anything in

The number one way to style a highwaist article of clothing is to tuck the top in. This time around, don't tuck anything in, and leave the outfit as is. The boxy silhouette is in, and will help in creating a more slimming effect.

Thigh highs

This year, thigh high boots are unbelievably popular, so try pairing them with a full, and flouncy, skater skirt. The pairing with elongate your gams, and will lend an air of sophistication to your outfit. Alternatively, you can pair your skirt with thigh high socks and some low key footwear

Add a comfy sweater

Adding a comfy sweater to a somewhat formal article of clothing will end in some amazing results! Go for a contrasting color in order to make the most of your outfit!

A bomber jacket

This all black ensemble, while simple, is eye-catching enough for anyone willing to try it! The mixing of different fabrics, as well as the elements, lend a very badass vibe to the outfit, and sticking to one color eliminates the risk of overkill.

Wear with opaque tights

The way a skater skirt elongates the legs is unbelievable, especially so when paired with opaque tights! Try adding some low-key footwear, like combat boots, or a more whimsical pair of wedges for the full effect. And to elongate even more, have the footwear match the color of the tights!
