Needless to say, everyone is obssessed with Salma, and for good reason! Her eclectic taste in fashion, as well as her beautiful smile, has taken over our feeds this year, as well as our hearts! I had the wonderful opportunity of interviewing the model herself:

Tell me about yourself.
I'm Salma Abudeif, 21 year old Egyptian

Why a career in modeling?
Well, it’s fun. You can be many different character, and it’s somehow related to fashion, which I’m deeply in love with!

Did you choose to model, or did it come to be by coincidence?
Somehow I chose it and somehow it chose me, it was by coincidence. It’s a part time job, but I would like to work as a TV presenter after I graduate. I’m actually a student, studying mass communication.

How hard is it to juggle your modeling schedule with university?
I can't say that it is easy to manage between university and work , sometimes i have to work on the weekend or right after school!

You probably sometimes model in pretty revealing clothes. Have you received any negative feedback?
Yes of course. I mean, people will always criticize you.

How hard is it to model? Some people think that modeling is very easy, all you have to do is look pretty in front of a camera. How true is that?
No, I cant say that it’s easy, sometimes you have to come up with new poses and you spend a lot of time in front of the camera and stay put without moving which is very tiring.

Your Instagram account is chockfull of travel pictures. You love to travel, yes?
Yes I like to travel because I love to explore new places!

How hard is it styling yourself in order to be able to stand out from the crowd, especially in Egypt?
It's never that hard, actually I find it easy since I wear whatever I like.

Let’s talk Egyptian designers. Who are your favorite designers.
I can't name names because I have many favorite designers, since the fashion industry in Egypt is growing, but i can tell who my favorite bridal couture designer is. Definitely Yasmin Yeya. I would like to wear my wedding dress from her one day.

Favorite Egyptian Instagram style icon?
Woooh! Many! I like Alia El Essily, and Hadia Ghaleb because their style is close to my taste! But they are all amazing, like Radwa El Ziki, Nourhan Eissa, Noha El Sherbiny & Farah Emara.

What words of wisdom can you offer struggling/up and coming models.
If you believe in it and love it, don't let people get to you!
