Yellowing teeth are a result of many things, such as smoking and drinking coffee & alcohol, as well as having poor dental hygiene in general. While we all suffer from different dilemmas concerning our bodies, one problem I think most of us share, especially in Egypt, is yellowing teeth. In Egypt, many girls are smokers. In fact, it's pretty rare to find a girl who doesn't smoke, and teeth whitening products such as strips are pretty scarce in Egypt, and getting your teeth professionally whitened costs a fortune here. That's why most of us jump at any opportunity to better our teeth without breaking our bank accounts, and chemically harming them and that's why I figured I should share my teeth whitening tip with you all :)
(Disclaimer: any remedies I publish on my blog have all been tried and tested on myself. Sharing my tips is only out of goodwill, but it's imperative that I note that each and every person reacts to different remedies in different ways. Please try this at your own risk)
So for this very very simple routine, you will need very few items.
Here's how:
You need:
1/4 of a cup of Baking soda
Half a lemon
Q-Tip/ toothbrush you don't use.
Directions:
Mix the baking soda and lemon juice thoroughly. The acid from the lemon juice reacts with the baking soda, creating a paste like substance. It should fizz as the ingredients react. Using your q-tip or toothbrush, spread the paste along your teeth, making sure not to spread over your gums (I personally don't let the paste come near my gums because I don't want to harm them. Gums are sensitive and you don't want to harm them). Leave the paste on your teeth for a good minute, and then wash off. Remember to use a toothbrush to make sure you remove any traces of acid still on your teeth. Leaving the paste on for too long might damage, and even erode your teeth.
Tips:
I wouldn't advise you to do this everyday, and make sure you don't eat for a while after this.
Doing this method every once in a while (I do this about 3/4 times a month) will help whiten your teeth and it helps that you're not slathering chemicals on your teeth, no matter how little you do it.
