Sephora Cream Lip Stains

Sephora Cream lip stains review

There's nothing I love more than a good matte liquid lipstick. There's something to be said about the velvet feel, the longevity, the color payoff. Some of my absolute favorite liquid lipsticks are from the Sephora Collection, which retail for about $14, or 250 L.E.

Seeing as how the price point falls towards the cheaper end of the spectrum, as well as the fact that the quality is amazing, I think they're well worth the price. 250 L.E. is nothing, especially considering the fact that most of the locally available makeup retails for much much higher than that.

Each individual lip stain comes in 0.169 oz/ 5 mL containers, and the applicator is a doe foot, which makes it easier to apply but harder when lining the lips.

Quality wise, they go above and beyond.

I love it when my liquid lipsticks offer that velvety texture, which is sometimes compromised when there's heavy flaking, so I like the fact that the Sephora Cream Lip Stains give me that luxurious feel. There's something to be said about the layering though, since they layer quite well, but not amazingly, so you can kind of feel this almost tangible texture on the lips, which isn't major and doesn't really feel horribly annoying, but you can sort of feel it.

Something else I kind of dislike is the lack of color diversity in the collection. I mean, I'm all for your basic red and pretty taupe, but I want deep dark browns and aubergine-ish purples and velvety blacks, you know? So I kind of wish they'd make more colors, because I mean, who doesn't love a bold lip, right? Where's the dark blue, the pop of deep dark burgundy? I hate when makeup brands create like amazing products and then fall short when it comes to color diversity, which happens quite a lot. Where's the red that can work on every skin tone? Or the nude that can actually compliment every skin shade on the spectrum? Sephora, I love you to death, but please create more shades!

I bought the shades 01 Always Red, 03 Strawberry Kissed and 13 Marvelous Mauve. I especially love Always Red, it's a gorgeous blood red.

I do, also, absolutely love just how light and airy they feel on my lips (when not layered), and the way the seem to stay on for large amounts of time. They might not exhibit the best kind of longevity, but they do stay put for a while.

Finally, one thing I like about the lip stains is the fact that they don't smear all over your lips once you eat, especially messy food like pizza or fries. They don't remain unaffected, of course, but you're not going to find them all over the place, which is good.

Final verdict?

4/5

Would I buy it again?

For sure!

xx
