We all know that gut sinking feeling when we look in the mirror only to discover that a few unannounced blackheads have popped up all over. Ekh, not a good way to start any day. Luckily, I've come across quite a few home remedies, all tried & tested.
Disclaimer: I have tried these recipes & found that they have worked for me. I am not responsible for any breakouts or reactions that may occur, and I find that I must point out that each skin type reacts to different remedies in different ways. Please try this at your own risk.
Gelatin & Milk Blackhead Remover
This is a remedy that I was quite skeptical about, but I went ahead and tried anyway. The fact that it is composed of natural ingredients found in your kitchen intrigued me. I love the idea of using as little chemicals as I can on my face, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found that this little gem worked.
Here's how:
You need:
1 tbsp unflavored gelatin (powder)
1 tbsp milk
A brush that you do not use/ need
A bowl.
Directions:
Mix the gelatin & milk in a bowl thoroughly until the substance reaches a semi firm consistency. Next, microwave the mixture for about 10-15 seconds, just enough time for it to turn into liquid. You want to let it cool down for a few short seconds, before applying on your face, but don't take too long because it hardens quite fast.
Use your brush, or fingers, to spread the mixture thoroughly onto areas that are overridden with blackheads, making sure to get to the hard to reach spots, such as all around your nostrils, when spreading around your nose.
Let the mixture set on your face for about 10 minutes before peeling off to reveal all the gunk it removed from your face.
That's it!
(The mixture has quite a strong scent, so if you are someone who gets uncomfortable by strong scents, you might want to skip this one, though it works wonders)
Honey & Lemon Blackhead Remover
I read about this remedy so many times, but I never tried it until last night. I was sitting around bored so I thought I'd give it a shot. I did see a difference once I watched it off, but not a huge one, mind you.
Here's how:
You need:
Half a lemon
Honey
Directions:
Get the lemon, and drizzle honey on it. Not too much, though, you don't want the honey to override the lemon's purpose. Next, you want to take the lemon, and apply it to your face where blackheads are present, rubbing it in a circular motion, making sure to get to the hard to reach spots as you would with the gelatin & milk mixture. You should leave it to set on your face for about 5 minutes before washing it off with cold water, and patting it dry.
And there you have it! Stay tuned, though, because as I will add more tested remedies soon.
